Wrap-Up of Today’s 7th District Meeting

I just got in from today’s 7th District GOP Executive Committee meeting in Lumberton.  We had a very productive meeting with enthusiastic attendees from counties throughout the district.

A number of candidates were in attendance today, including some who are running in Democrat-leaning districts that have often gone unchallenged.  These candidates are sticking their necks out to ensure that the Democrats have to defend every seat they hold, and we should do all in our power to help them succeed.

In some cases, I hear people say things like “that seat isn’t winnable.”  In many cases, the numbers appear to support that argument — but in 1994 we won many seats that no one deemed winnable.

The best way to ensure that we don’t win is to not try.

We must put in a strong effort, even in districts that only appear to be marginally winnable.  If we work hard and do our job, we will win some seats that no one thought possible and we will make major strides toward becoming a majority party in North Carolina.
